When you register on the Lavasource Expert Network, we collect:

  • Name, email, phone number
  • Professional background and experience
  • Availability and location(s)
  • IP address and browser information

If payment is processed:

  • Payment details and financial information (for payment processing only)

We process your data based on:

  • Contractual Necessity — To maintain your profile and facilitate introductions between you and clients
  • Legal Obligation — To comply with tax and employment law requirements
  • Legitimate Interests — For platform security, fraud prevention, and business administration
  1. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

We use your data to:

  • Maintain your profile on the Expert Network
  • Market your services to potential clients
  • Facilitate introductions
  • Send you communications about opportunities and platform updates
  • Comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting, employment law)
  1. AUTOMATED COMMUNICATIONS

You will receive automated communications from Lavasource about:

  • Potential client matches
  • Platform updates and changes
  • Account notifications

You can manage your communication preferences or opt out of non-essential communications by contacting contactus@lavasource.com.

  1. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

Your profile data is stored on our secure servers located in the UK. We use appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access.

  1. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the UK through the following service providers:

  • Stripe (US) — payment processing
  • Website hosting providers — platform operation
  • Email and communication services — sending updates and messages

We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for these transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.

  1. WHO HAS ACCESS TO YOUR DATA

Lavasource staff:

  • Team members who coordinate introductions and manage the platform

Service Providers (processors on our behalf):

  • Website hosting providers
  • Email and communication services
  • Payment processors (Stripe)
  • Analytics and security providers

Third parties:

  • Clients you are introduced to (only contact information necessary for the engagement)
  • Those specified in your individual engagement contracts
  1. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR DATA
  • Your profile: As long as you maintain Expert Network membership, plus 3 years after termination
  • Payment records: At least 6 years (UK tax requirement)
  1. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to:

  • Request access — See what data we hold about you
  • Request correction — Have inaccurate data corrected
  • Request deletion — Ask us to delete your profile and data
  • Object to processing — Ask us to stop certain uses of your data
  • Data portability — Request your data in a portable format

How to request: Send a written request to contactus@lavasource.com with:

  • Your name
  • Your request (access, correction, deletion, etc.)
  • Any supporting information

We’ll respond within 30 days. If you request deletion, we will delete your profile and associated data, except where we are required by law to retain it (e.g., tax records for 6 years).

Opt-out of communications: Reply “STOP” to any marketing email, or contact contactus@lavasource.com to manage your communication preferences.

  1. COOKIES

The Lavasource Expert Network uses cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Remember your login and preferences
  • Analyze how you use the platform
  • Improve platform functionality and security

You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. However, disabling cookies may affect your ability to use the platform. For detailed information about our cookie usage, please refer to our Cookie Policy at contactus@lavasource.com.

You are responsible for providing accurate information and for keeping your profile information up to date. You acknowledge that any inaccurate information you provide may affect your suitability for introductions.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the ICO if you believe we have not complied with data protection laws.
